Brazilian actor and voice artist Tony Germano, known for roles in Netflix, Nickelodeon, and Disney productions, has died following a fatal fall from the roof of his home. He was 55.

Germano, whose career spanned more than three decades across stage, film, and voice work, died on Wednesday, November 26, while checking on recent repairs at his new residence in São Paulo, according to multiple reports. His representative confirmed the tragic accident in a statement to People.

“It is with deep sorrow that we confirm the passing of actor and voice artist Tony Germano… Tony suffered a fall at his residence and, unfortunately, did not survive his injuries,” the statement said.
“We kindly ask for respect and understanding during this painful time for his family, friends, and colleagues… His absence will be deeply felt.”

While best known internationally for his work on Go, Dog, Go!, Nicky, Ricky, Dicky & Dawn, and Disney’s live-action Beauty and the Beast, Germano’s death also highlights a sobering reality: roof-related falls remain one of the leading causes of accidental injuries and fatalities worldwide.

Reports indicate that Germano had recently purchased a new home and was reviewing repairs made to the roof when he slipped and fell.

Germano’s résumé included major theatrical productions such as The Phantom of the Opera, Miss Saigon, Jekyll & Hyde, and Fiddler on the Roof. In film, he most recently appeared in the 2025 release Labyrinth of Lost Boys.

Tributes poured in from colleagues across Brazil’s entertainment community:

  • Director Matheus Marchetti called Germano a “father figure” on set and praised his generosity and talent.

  • Actor Miguel Falabella described him as an “impeccable professional” and said he bids farewell “amidst strong applause from his peers.”

A memorial service was held Thursday, November 27, at Bosque da Paz Cemetery in Vargem Grande Paulista. Germano was not married and had no children.

Roof Safety Matters, Even for Small Tasks

For homeowners and professionals alike, Germano’s accidental death underscores how critical proper fall protection is when working at heights.

Roofing professionals are trained and equipped to handle tasks the public often underestimates, making it all the more important for homeowners to avoid unnecessary risks.
