Police and firefighters responded to the crash that occurred near the Fullerton Municipal Airport, which is about 6 miles from Disneyland. Thick smoke could be seen for miles, but the fire was eventually extinguished. Of those injured, 11 were taken to a hospital, while the rest were treated on site and released. According to KABC the two deaths were the pilot and his 16-year old daughter.

Jerome Cruz, a witness to the incident said “every day there’s a plane going down here…I said ‘One day it’s going to fall down on our roof’ and I think today (was) the day.” The plane reportedly took off only minutes before the incident. The National Transportation Safety Board and the FAA will be investigating the crash.
