BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA– A longtime employee of Platinum Roofing has been arrested after investigators say she embezzled more than $177,000 from the Rockledge-based company over a two-year period.
Authorities identified the suspect as Christine Beasley, 49, of Titusville. Beasley, who had worked with Platinum Roofing for several years, is accused of manipulating payroll records, writing unauthorized checks, and misusing company credit cards between 2023 and 2024.
According to the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office, Beasley inflated her hourly wage from the agreed $25 per hour to rates as high as $40. Despite being on salary, she also claimed overtime. In 2023, when her salary should have totaled $68,640, Beasley allegedly collected more than $94,000. By November 2024, she had already exceeded her yearly pay by more than $26,000.
Investigators say Beasley wrote company checks payable to herself and her landlord totaling nearly $89,000. She also allegedly charged more than $36,000 in personal expenses to a company credit card.
The embezzlement came to light when Beasley requested an advance on her paycheck, then later processed a duplicate payment for herself. The duplicate payment raised red flags and prompted a closer review of company payroll records.
Following an investigation, Sheriff’s Agents concluded that Beasley’s actions were deliberate and intended for personal financial gain.
Beasley was booked into the Brevard County Jail on felony charges of grand theft and scheme to defraud. Her bond was set at $30,000.
The total financial loss to Platinum Roofing is estimated at more than $177,000.
