Henry County, Illinois – Large amounts of roofing nails were discovered on emergency crossovers along Interstate 80, with some placed inside plastic Easter eggs. No suspects have been identified at this time.

The nails were found around 1:45 a.m., and Illinois State Police troopers spent the early morning hours cleaning up and inspecting the crossovers. Fortunately, no state police vehicles were damaged.

The placement of the roofing nails in emergency crossovers suggests that the suspect or suspects may have been targeting government vehicles.

Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Illinois State Police.
