Buckingham Township, PA — A tragic accident claimed the life of a 58-year-old roofer over the weekend while working on a school roofing project in Bucks County.

Jose Morales, of Adelphi, Maryland, was on the roof of Holicong Middle School in Buckingham Township when he reportedly tripped and fell approximately 30 feet to the ground. Emergency services, including Buckingham Township Police, EMS, and the Bucks County Coroner’s Office, responded to the scene shortly after 4 p.m. following a 911 call. Morales was pronounced dead at 4:10 p.m.

An autopsy conducted by the Bucks County Coroner’s Office determined the cause of death to be blunt impact injuries, ruling it an accidental death.

Morales was employed by a roofing company contracted by the Central Bucks School District.

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) is actively investigating the incident to determine whether safety protocols were followed and to assess any contributing factors.
