Saybrook Township, Ohio– A roofer was electrocuted on Thursday afternoon, August 30, while carrying a ladder. The incident happened around 3:20 p.m. in the 6400 block of Lake Road West, according to local firefighters. Saybrook Township Fire Chief John Jyurovat reported that the man, an employee of a roofing company, was on-site completing a job when the accident happened. As he was carrying an aluminum ladder upright, trying to maneuver around a tree, he inadvertently came into contact with a low-hanging, live wire carrying 7,620 volts. The man was immediately transported to Ashtabula Medical Center by firefighters and later airlifted to a trauma center for further treatment, Jyurovat said. As of 4pm Friday, the chief confirmed that the roofer remains hospitalized but is in stable condition and doing well. The electrocution resulted in burn marks on the man’s feet, firefighters noted.roofer electrocuted
