A Phoenix-based roofing contractor has been ordered to pay $147,708 in back wages and liquidated damages after a federal investigation found that dozens of roofers were denied overtime compensation. According to the U.S. Department of Labor, Collum Roofing Inc. will pay the amount to 61 workers after the department obtained a consent judgment in the U.S. District Court for the District of Arizona. Danvers, Massachusetts– A roofing worker died Wednesday morning after falling from the roof of a home in Danvers, according to the Essex County District Attorney’s Office. Police were called to a residence on Briarwood Drive in Danvers around 8:15 a.m. after reports that a worker had fallen from the roof. When officers arrived, they found the injured roofer at the scene, the district attorney’s office said in a press release.
